I want to begin by congratulating our former colleagues who have decided to transition into a management role by transitioning to CEO.
While you may feel somewhat unsure in your new role, I would urge you to think back on the many workshops you have attended, at considerable expense, in which you defined your personal ethos, gave examples of how Cengage's credo influences the decisions you make at work, and the importance of questioning the norm and becoming a disruptor.
You have been disrupted in some ways, but if you remember what you learned during your conscription, you will be ok. If you feel down, consider taking a hot yoga class, visiting the Mediterranean, or buying an influential new belt. These small acts can help ground you.
If you decide to pursue another employment opportunity, your experience serving the company has given you a significant advantage over other applicants. Cengage is known throughout dozens of verticals as being on the bleeding edge of EdTech. Potential employers will undoubtedly view you as an agile, scalable disruptor with dozens of transferable skills!
Lastly, I would like to acknowledge the hard work of our management team in deploying Project Horizon. We have many challenges ahead, but I would be remiss if I did not recognize the initiative as an unmitigated success.
