Strike until 8 AM on Monday, April 29, for the workers of Nielsen Media Italia, the company that measures Auditel data. “For the third time in just over a year,” explains the Filcams Cgil RSU, “Nielsen Media has initiated a mobility procedure, dictated by the investment funds that own it and the consulting firms they rely on, with the sole purpose of increasing profits at the expense of the workers’ rights.”
The RSU highlights that “paradoxically, by the company’s own admission, the realities impacted by the restructuring are not necessarily losing money, but the only criterion applied is cost reduction without any consideration for the quality of work performed or the accumulated know-how.”
The approach taken by Nielsen’s management therefore translates to “outsourcing functions and departments to large international hubs, replacing local staff with workers who have fewer rights and are more vulnerable to coercion, fostering a situation of social dumping.”
The Filcams RSU concludes: “The workers of Nielsen Media Italia, gathered in assembly, completely reject the policies implemented by the company which aims only to cut jobs and relocate to countries with lower costs and the justifications given.”
