Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Should CHAs be worried?

There is talk of merging markets in Landmark. Our market is planning to merge with our neighboring market and I’m wondering if they plan to get rid of the CHAs altogether or just condense them?
They say they need us for collaboration with hospitals and PCP offices, but I really need to know how soon I should be leaving this company.

CHAs are considered duplicative to CHWs and Care Navigators which already existed pre Landmark acquisition. The Full Pop Management or FPM model under Optum at Home for UHCS DSNP and CSNP populations will continue cutting especially duplicative.

Rumor CHAs parred down to new role potentially occurring in June or July to take more community base role similar to PES + CHA combo however if your market has many CHAs some will be let go or redeployed via RIF.

If I had to guess (and it really is a guess) based on the patterns I have seen your role will either be eliminated or you will transition into a different role under the FPM model. If your role isn’t eliminated it seems FPM people have first dibs at all positions so if there is a consolidation an FPM employee will get it over a Landmark employee, and then if there happens to be any spots available, it will be offered to your team or someone on your team. If there aren’t enough roles you will be terminated.
