They have to pay out all PTO in California. Its well knows California law-cannot
to be capped at 40. Easy call from a lawyer.
I have been with this organization for 19 years in total. When I was laid off the last time, my severance was based on how long I had been in my most recent job, which sc--wed me, basically.
You will be paid for the two weeks like a normal paycheck, and then get severance. So 2 weeks + severance + up to 40 hours PTO payout is what you will get, in total, from Optum from the date your are told of termination.
You will get the severance and PTO in a lump sum a few weeks after returning your severance agreement.
Sparq will tell you. I believe it is 1 week for year of service plus 1 week for 28 or below; for 29 & over they get plus 2 weeks.
The people they’ve been laying off are told they don’t have to work the last two weeks and will still get paid.
Just wondering in case I’m next, does that mean I will be paid for those two weeks + severance or are those two weeks apart of the severance package?
It's based on Grade Level and length of employment
Grade 27 5 weeks
As expected for 19.5 yrs, PG 29: 6 months sev + PTO maxed at 40 hours, as stated in Sparq.
Not much
So the less you are paid the number of weeks decreases. Because let's face it, they can't afford to pay more for the lowest paid people. What kind of bs is that???
Grade 25, 3 weeks
Search severance package in Sparq. A pdf should come up that talks all about it.
You can find this on Sparq by years of service and grade level
Think it depends on what grade you are
