Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

It's pointless

We lost most of the best people on our team and that's become more than obvious in the past weeks. It makes me wonder, why in the world should I try hard and do most of the work myself now that all that's left of our team are people who either can’t or don't want to do the work? Why does Citi like to lay off hard workers?

Out of the 8 people I know that got the ax, only one was under 50 and non-white. The remaining mostly white females over 63. Keep the 30 year old, maybe, but doubtful they will develop a work ethic, and learn their jobs. Selling my Citi stock and watch this house of cards fall.

There are functions which are designed NOT to be of value.
Once you realise this, everything about ‘restructuring’ makes sense and is being done as it is supposed to be….

I am enjoying watching the sh!tshow from the sidelines. Glad to be out from such a toxic environment. It has become unbearable and people are grasping at the terrible hand they were dealt. Lame Jane will get her turn.

Ive been saying this for the longest. On my team our Sr Management laid off people in their 30s and kept those in their late 50s and early 60s. The one’s they kept are just working to work provide nothing new bring no new ideas no value etc. I don’t say this to insult older workers but if what Citi wanted was to improve the bank they went about it the worst way possible.
