HR gets rid of P66 Dependent Scholarship

Just heard we are getting rid of the P66 Dependent Scholarship program. Why we continue to spend so much time and resources into MyRoute and meanwhile cut meaningful programs is baffling.

Does this apply to the Board of Directors or is it just us ex working people?
Not that the Board of Directors would lift a finger to help anyone.

There are maximum of 66 scholarships awarded each year. Usually there are about 30-40 awarded.
Over the years these scholarships have helped many children of employees attend universities who may not have the opportunity otherwise. This created great loyalty.
It probably costs more to operate Stony Island for 1 year than the scholarships cost for multiple years.
This is just 1 more example of the current leadership of Phillips 66 destroying the great heritage of this once great company.

I use tractors at the refinery TA. Must be intuitive then. Who needs succession plans!?

That's the way they did it in Tractor Land so it must be the absolute best way to do it at Phillips 66.

I was told that the grant program is still available for employees. It’s just the retiree programs that they did away with. This is probably a big deal in the refinery communities and the smaller towns so I hate that. They also confirmed that they did away with the P66 high school scholarships too.

I get BT, but these just seem like bad areas to cut. Doesn’t seem like good energy.

Wait, seriously? Are represented employees not eligible for the volunteer match?

Just like they don’t let represented employees do volunteering anymore.

I sure was hoping this was not true so I asked and checked and it sure is. Wow. How ignorant. These programs are two of the best in the industry and a great incentive to employees and retirees. Cost saving is one thing but these are actual benefits that BENEFIT communities and people.

Shame on you P66! BP would never do such a thing!

sure, we must've wanted it gone, you know.. .same as when we all expressed our opinions that we should eliminate success shares. . . we really (really) don't want it anymore. . 'course . .I don't actually recall that survey question?

I hadn’t heard about the retiree programs going a way but if that’s true that’s awful. Cut things that are less important and stop doing away with the programs that make the company special and care.

How stupid! A company supposedly about supporting education and yet does away with a successful scholarship program???? What a joke. Bad decision P66.

That’s disappointing. Since we hire 3:1 younguns to experience hires.

Not True. Emails went out for 2024 saying deadline is March 1st.

They are also getting rid of the donation matching for retirees. Reason of 'increasing costs'...b s, I say.
