Thread regarding SAP layoffs

Let us know if you find a new job

People are scaring me with their talk of the job market. Whoever I talk to complains about how there are not enough available jobs, how employers are lowballing people, and how it takes a miracle to get an offer. It would be good for my mental state to hear from somebody who had a positive experience, if that somebody even exists.

If you want to go a terrible third tier company look no further than Litmos

Some of the deadest dead weight from SAP is there.

I am impacted on April 15th. Started applying after almost a decade working at SAP and got an offer today. Although not as much as I make at SAP but something positive. I have learned my lesson - never trust your company. Work hard and play hard. I'll keep applying and moving to better opportunities. Game ON..

Hi All, CK here! I haven’t got a new position yet but am networking like crazy. I already have my feet under the boardroom table at Adidas. When I am fired or my contract ends with SAP, I am certain that I can modernize and improve Adidas as their next CEO. I will of course, be looking to bring my amazing and inspiration executive team with me!

Toodles guys! I have to go and count my many, many euros and then have my nose surgically removed from HP’s b—t!

Saw the writing on the wall and interviewed all February/March. Made it to final round with 2 companies with no offer. Got an offer this week. Was T3 at SAP - will be a "Senior Developer" in new job. $136K base + bonus and extras. Competitive out there, but lots of companies interviewing and hiring.

If you just want to hear good news, here it is: the market is super flooded with high paying jobs waiting for your application! Don't worry, it'll be better than SAP no matter where you get to work!

I started looking last May. Was steadly talking with companies since then. Got fired in Dec and got a job offer in March. Got almost indentical base salary

Super competitive job market - lots of good talent in the market. Big tech is not really growing like it once was. There are a ton of jobs out there - but super competitive.

It is what it is. Don't be fearful. Just put your head down and do the best you can... its all you can do. Fear breeds desperation.. and desperation doesn't produce any good outcomes.

Hang in there.

“ Now there's way too many people trying to get jobs”

Don’t forget that 20 years ago, only people with tech skills got into tech.
Now we have every other Sally and her friend doing tech because of the money.
So after paying $$ to Sally, I still need two H1b to write the code and update my storage racks.

Unfortunately it's just reality.

Everybody has been told for the last decade plus to get into Tech and IT because there was good job market.

So everybody did. Now there's way too many people trying to get jobs. If you are trying to get a junior or mid level job, you better be a rockstar and willing to get paid pennies. If you are a senior or lead, it's a lot easier but still not the money available that there was a few years ago.
