Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Too much management travel

Too many cuts due to SG&A as a percentage of sales. If travel and headcount are part of SG&A, please stop all this recent middle management travel, use all the remote options of WYW and protect jobs. Are you really efficient because of travel, or traveling because job eliminations gave you room in your budgets? C’mon!

Asraf loves his trips to uk. Friends family and good restaurants. Oh and an hour of work a day. More time spent on restaurant reservations by his sidekick director. That’s the life!

Somebody should look into the trips to Costa Rica for 1 day only and then back to the states. Then the executive team took new jobs so what was the point?

Many of you may not know this, but for decades our manufacturing facilities were golden. Well kept, managed and productive; held in high esteem with great, knowledgeable employees - great to work with even though we, at corporate, were taking up their valuable time. Visiting a manufacturing site was a privilege and you had to have your manager, possibly director sign off on the agenda/purpose of visit and the plant managers approval. Those who have experienced this understand what I am writing here. Heads held high with 3M's proprietary information, good customer base, excellent sales, etc.

There's no oversight in plants because Corporate doesn't show up in person. That's why all the negative sh-t is happening because no one is accountable because guess what? They don't travel to see it. Straight up laziness.

Whoa whoa whoa, are you trying to tell me that having a manager travel to a site, and then having that site deprioritize their actual work for multiple days to put together an agenda and presentations for the visitor, doesn't improve the company's bottom line? I find that hard to believe.
