How long until we see this go the way of the First Union / Wachovia merger. This "thing" is failing without a major market event. What would have to Suntruist if it had to face a major market disruption.

The fact (ex-)employees called First Union by its initials says everything!
Wachovia was a disaster itself. It was known as “Walk All Over Ya” for a reason. All the big banks are gone. Time to wake up to that.
This is spot on. Culture at First Union was what Truist is now. Sh-t.
Unmanaged duration risk from a sustained period of non-zero interest rates should do it. That will never happen.
