Got the infamous “15 minute” meeting tomorrow 6/13

Guess thats it. I am so depressed. I don’t know how I will handle this.

Have to agree it might be a satire post, everything was quiet in the area of optum i work at, and it’s a big area. Business as usual.

Maybe i’ll take these posts more seriously in July, but i hope not see them and everything settles down by then. Hopefully.

This was a fake post lol. That or you must be the only person who have been laid off.

one of my favorite quotes that's both a bit hateful and helpful: "You can wallow in self pity. You just can't live there."

so let yourself feel the feelings. it's OK to be angry, sad, hurt, numb, giddy, hopeful--any of it and all of it. loss of a job IS a loss, so get familiar with the stages of grief.

also, do yourself a favor and pull down copies of your most recent annual reviews. those are going to give you good stuff to put on your resume` because you're going to rock your next job tomorrow; today, you have to interview for it.

most of all, give yourself some grace. and reach for your support system, whatever that looks like.

SW Managers got the invite to meet with chaplains, but so did HSMs and CSMs (each with their own meeting time). After finding that out, I was shocked SWMs were considered to 'need' one given everything else that they've been pulled out of.

You take everything that is rightfully yours, including the severence and unemployment. You may be in shock, but take a deep breath and do what is best for you. I was laid off in January, ended up retiring, but I did everything I'm advising you to do. Your emotions will be right there, probably get angry, sad, etc., it's okay. Let us know how it goes.

Optum has 2 chaplains for staff. I’m surprised they have not been laid off.

You will handle this very well! Change is scary no doubt! This job market su-ks for sure— but in the end you will be better off. Make sure to stay positive as you are searching… it is very easy to fall into a pity party, and it will spiral you down if you aren’t careful. Set aside some time each day to job hunt, and set aside time each day for yourself. Practice self care- and remember you aren’t laid off because you are a bad person or worthless, to the contrary- you were laid off because of horrible leadership and poor decisions by others out of your control. Head high and you got this!

Did the SW managers with Landmark get an invite to meet with the chaplains in 2 weeks?

: @gub+1sZwrjgV- You will go into work tomorrow with your head held high. You will sign up for unemployment right away and turn in your signed severance paperwork ASAP ( if you choose) so UHG can begin to process that for you. It will take 4-6 weeks once you turn it in.
You will find something else and be glad you left this he-l hole!
Change is scary no doubt, but you will be fine. Oh and don’t forget to tell them to F off under your breath. 👍

Our entire team met with Chaplin this morning to discuss Grief. And an entire team touch base slotted for tomorrow afternoon for an hour. Unusual as we don’t tend to have meetings on a Thursday
