Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

An intel compares salaries to fast food chains

That’s why they say we have a competitive comp. Compared to Taco Bell it’s a little bit competitive 🤣

Wasn't this addressed by the CEO recently? That there is no compensation issue when looked at statistically. I think most Intel employees are probably as well paid as their counterparts in NVIDIA, AMD or Apple. That's what I took from the statement.

No more free coffee or hot water due to cost cutting. Stop using toilet papers for additional janitor works

New fab workers paid $25 per hour. Very sad.

Did low pay result in poor talent or did poor talent result in lower pay ? I submit that the talent has been poor for a long time but pay was artificially elevated due to a lack of industry competition. When you can milk 14nm for an eternity you basically have a monopoly. Once AMD, Arm, Apple silicon, and Nvidia (taking 70% of data center spend) started eating Intel’s lunch the sh*t talent milking Intel was on full display.

Intel has one of the lowest compensations in the tech industry, from a legend it has turned into a scam for employees, the worse is in Ireland where the company has been hiring Interns and its experienced employees under grade 8 are paid about 40% less than market, Movidius or AI product teams are on the verge of close down as they no longer able to hire academically qualified people from the industry, it is a very low budget company now
