Interesting email from JD today. Anyone have any details about if they are using facial recognition on the cameras to see who is leaving and when, or is it based off of managers relaying the information? Let’s discuss.

That’s because none of their bosses in the office so why should they have to be there? Good for the goose not the gander
They are actually watching the cameras in the morning and catching people walking in, swiping and then turning right around. Multiple people with multiple offenses. “Investigation” opened and then terminated.
Always hypocrisy at the top. It is funny that JD can talk the talk but doesn’t walk the walk and is in charge of all things HR.
No senior leadership including JD go into the office on a regular basis. Do what I say not what I do.
Crazy concept actually going into the office for 3 days a week and working a full day...what a ridiculous post. JD is a joke and a horrible HR leader with no real HR credentials, but what exactly in the communication bothers you?
They may just be checking when folks log off for the day and if they login again using vpn from a remote location
I was told the facial recognition was never turned on as far as the Essendant firewall. Not sure if they’re using it at the exits though
Of course there's facial recognition being used. If you walk into a restricted area, have you not heard the voice over a loud speaker that says "You are entering a restricted area..."?
Was anyone actually fired or scare tactic with summer upon us?
I was shocked to hear of the snitches roaming the halls costing people their livelihoods. Did the terminated get a warning or were they caught off guard? We will never know because JD lies about most thing. Worst HR head Staples has ever had. Who wants to work there knowing there are miserable people with ill-intent who want to make others just as miserable as they are? Possibly cost them their job.
Covid lock downs changed how people work and interact with each other. Forcing people into an office isn't about collaboration, it's simply an excuse to can people when the numbers get tight. The people making the rules don't follow them themselves. The hypocrisy is blatant and par for the course with the current leadership team.
The Staples culture took a nosedive after JD was hired. At least SD is long gone. He was just as insufferable as JD. The two of them changes Staples culture for the worst and it will never recover.
And yes, there is facial recognition. When you enter your picture and name pops up on the security desk monitor. It's a matter of time before they use it more for more ill-intent. Firing people is cheaper then laying the off.
