Stores Closing list

Is there really a store closing list or just a bunch of guesses?

If there is a real list, publish it

I’m confused. Our Store Manager told us that we were in a list, much like the neighborhood list, but that it did not mean for sure that we would close. So I want to clarify….if we were told that we are on a list we are definitely closing?

It's great to have this list. Our store manager is already talking about the employee engagement survey next month and everyone usually just pencil whips it so we don't have to spend three weeks coming up with action plans. Now that we know our store is on the closing list, gonna use this survey to tell the company how tired we are of continually being asked to come up with marketing events for our store when we don't even have enough staff to run the buildings, let alone do grass roots marketing.

Maybe leadership should try raising expectations for the actual marketing department instead of once again pushing yet another unrealistic expectation onto the stores teams. Don't we have a bunch of people who actually went to school to learn marketing to do this kind of stuff? I don't see anyone from the marketing department in our store helping with go-backs or providing customers service, why are we expected to do their job?

Pretty much ALL of the free-standing furniture galleries will either close or be moved into the nearby full line (with reduced staff). This has already happened in multiple locations with more on the way. if you're not a top writer, better start making your back-up plan now.

I did hear about Route 4 Furniture in Paramus NJ from a very reliable source. Have not heard about any other Furniture locations in NJ. I am trying to put together a list of sites that should be remaining so I can see where to put in a transfer request with.

As far as NJ this looks accurate but not sure about Monmouth Mall as the mall is undergoing a major transformation over the next 2 years. I thought they would give Macys a chance and then see how it performs when Reno is complete. There will be a Whole Foods close to it and Boscov at the other end just completed a huge Reno.
The other sites are all very slow in dying malls. Brunswick has survived for many years now so maybe their time is coming up. I always appreciate any info regarding the stores affected There is one other NJ store that I heard about but did not make this list.

This list checks out, several stores in our division that were announced internally but never shared publicly are on the list. Thanks anonymous poster!

Stores that are definitely closing were told. I don't believe they were told when they would close. THere are also stores on the 'wait and see' list.

Only 50 stores were notified of the 150 on the list. There’s another 100 still waiting to be notified. When we will find out is the question!!!

Each store was told individually if they were on the closing list. They didn't send out an all inclusive list. That being said, the only way people know of other stores is from each other.... only way to get an official list going is to post it on here from someone from each closing store... which will never happen since if I were to say my store is on the list and name the location, im sure hr would open an investigation trying to find out which colleague in my specific store leaked info. I think for now is just a waiting game until there is an official public release of info.

There is but it is not being made public. Management is in the tough position where they can either sc--w us over or sc--w themselves. If they release the store list they know that if one of them is our store we will start looking for other jobs and they would have no workers to run them and hence sc--w themselves. On the other hand if they wait right before closure they can keep us til the end but that leaves us scrambling to find new jobs in a short time. It’s a lose-lose situation.
