Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Leadership

I’m sure leadership will take responsibility for failing to have a well thought out, vetted and supported plan to execute, taking 180 degree turns every 6 months and restructuring teams and districts constantly.

Hey there, just to clarify, a DEI hire refers to someone who was chosen for a role because of their skills and experience, but also because they contribute to a more diverse and inclusive workplace. It doesn't mean they were hired solely because of their identity.

I understand the frustration with feeling replaced, but your comments come across as pretty hateful. Focusing on race or gender takes away from the actual content of the argument. Instead, let's focus on the ideas themselves.

Are this commenter’s points valid, or are they missing the mark? Is it some middle aged white guy who fears someone else will take their place and chooses to make it about something other than skills and abilities? Or do they have a valid point.

They feel so strongly that they are best at what they do that the only reason someone else got the job “because of”. It’s not true. I’m also a white guy, not a “DEI” hire as you claim. I was hired based on my skills and abilities. If someone comes along that is better than me, I’ll be upset if I lose my job, but I’m not going to go on the attack and say it’s because they are female/BIPOC/LGBTQ+.

In that case, you’d be no better than a company that decides to use those qualities as the decision maker. There were comments of KR’s video but I think you missed the point. By having different perspectives on the selection panel, you will have a better chance for all.

This person is clearly a DEI hire and knows it. Thanks for the laugh.

They may have gotten 10% of our individual contributors and a few leaders. Next will be middle to senior management as they get ready to sell. I’m just feeling for all the good hardworking colleagues we lost yesterday. Regardless of what the greedy 1% has already taken, they always want more. The world is ruled by greed. It’s sad that these people are so heartless, ruthless in cutting heads. I’m sure many of our colleagues will find decent employment wry soon, but the stress of being laid off and the rest of us here left with uncertainty is not fair. The company as a whole was profitable, just not as profitable as they wanted. We could’ve done better, in fact we are modeling our enterprise and small cell deployment to leverage our existing network. The fact that they’re canceling or holding off on some capital intensive projects just means they are getting ready to sell. I hope that isn’t the case, but we know that the shareholders just want their returns now.

“ Crown is a rudderless ship right now, being pushed by Elliot, corporate woke ideology (diversity/identity/ESG), mixed in with stupid slogans.”

What kind of re----k, whisk-y tango, red-hat-wearing, cousin dating, backwoods answer is that?

“Woke”? It’s the old-school mindset of the people in Canonsburg that made this mess worse. You put the blame on the leadership, but take no responsibility for yourself. They are trying to close Canonsburg because you’re all related and the antithesis of diversity. If only you didn’t get your brother-uncle and sister-cousin a job there, we’d have some decent talent that could help navigate us out of this mess.

This is probably the same guy that posts about it being the women or minorities that are to blame. Look in the mirror, Pal, you’re being made redundant by your own stupidity.

The EMT reads this place and laughs because it justifies their decisions to let you go.

Btw, the leadership isn’t at all “woke”. They are all card-carrying members of the GOP. They say that those who vote red are either those getting rich off of the backs of the workers, or the gullible workers. Check you bank account and tell me which you are

It's easy to blame everthing on ESG how about it was a bad business model to run a capitol intense fiber company like a REIT.. If you want to place blame look at the CFO he definitely wasn't a ESG hire

This has been Crown MO since what, 2019?

we have had terrible leadership, on top of brown nosier VP's, Directors and Sr. Managers. Most of them didn't have experience, but climb the corporate ladder for some odd reason. Who they knew, what they looked like, ESG scores etc.

Network has always been a failure, but Jay Brown and the team didn't want to say it...........even though wall street knew and 90% of all their questions where about network each earnings call. Just think, 1,000 employees were supposed to move to Houston by August of this year. that was put on "hold" basically for todays layoff. Not a 1,000 people, but close. Crown needed to cut people, and they delayed removing people from the business side that has never produced. Well, reality finally struck. If you didnt see this coming, you are either blind or a fool.

Crown is a rudderless ship right now, being pushed by Elliot, corporate woke ideology (diversity/identity/ESG), mixed in with stupid slogans. When it was the B3's, people did their work and Crown was a great place to work.

Get out while you can. The grass is greener outside of Crown. Trust me.
