In 2020 we were deemed "essential workers" while everyone else got to go home with pay. Now here I sit on furlough because I'm not deemed essential anymore. Pure wicked. Pure evil. That's when I finally realized this was no longer a good company to work for. They lost their very thing that makes a company great which is valuing its employees. No severance, no moving package, no hold down period on your senority. All those years wasted. They want us to be so dedicated and drop everything in our lives to fix their problems but the second they don't need you, you get the boot without even a minute of warning. Thanks for the hardship. Thanks for all the missed birthdays and the Christmases. Thanks for not giving me the time off for my wedding. I was dedicated. You were not. Evil. Pure evil.

Jim- mechanical. Indefinite furlough. No call back. Looks like a ton more just got furloughed.
I'm just glad I got a disability when I did because that company BNSF is the worst company I've ever worked for in my life I too have spent countless nights away from my family they are nothing but backstabbing Foreman who don't care about you even when they think they're being nice to you but the minute you turn around they will put a kn--e all the way up your backside. Kind of like getting a deer during hunting season!!!
Run, don't walk to get away from the headache that is the railroad.
It's not a career it's a hustle and if you ever try to make it more than that you will lose your mind.

I’m sorry to hear that. I have only been out here for about 2 years potentially on the verge of getting furloughed. But the last few months I have been considering walking away already. I’ve come to realize that this company could care less about any of us. With recent changes Put in place I’ve never been more depressed or anxious in my entire life.
