See that in recent layoffs those in GHQ received severance. Did that also extend to the recently let go CE’s? Did tenure amount to anything?

I really have no reason to lie...
I started on 4/1/24 ended on 6/6/24
9 weeks of severance for a total of $7,355.77
It also says "grade at time of termination 07" but I don't know what that means tbh.
@1fgs+1sWVlusB April1st u stated and 9 weeks severance, i call bullshyt
That's why a union pays for itself, anyone who says otherwise is brainwashed by their corporate overlords.
I started April 1st and was laid off last Thursday. I'm receiving 2 more weeks of pay and 9 weeks of severance.
I know a CE that was let go last Tuesday and he did get severance. Not too bad but only temporary help until Unemployment kicks in. Our new TM has not mentioned anything about the 10 CEs let go in the Northeast. Only mentioned our previous TM.
Severance should be based on 2 things, your annual salary divided into weekly pay and years of service. There is an equation to convert years of service into weeks of severance pay, then you get paid out a certain number of weeks. Different countries and different States have different requirements. You need to know what you’re entitled to based on where you live. This is where the Union helps, they negotiate severance pay into your contract, you know exactly what your entitled to if you get a lay off
There was a process / package based upon pay grade. Not sure but I think you did need a minimum time on the job also.
Union techs should know exactly what their severance pay is, it should be written in the contract. Non union techs are on their own and if have any doubts about the termination package, then you should get legal assistance, it’s your problem to figure out what’s best for you, but once you sign it, you can never un sign it.
