Thread regarding Mobile Mini Inc. layoffs

Willscot Mobile Mini layoffs

I was one of many to be cut on Friday after many years with the company. It makes very little sense as I was one of the top performers there year after year.

Wonder if the GMs that are flying out to Chicago area still getting escorts and taking them to fancy dinners. These GMs have no shame In what they did in public.

When Mobile Mini was acquired how long did they guarantee your employment? That’s your WS corp BS comeback?
Really? F*** you.
At the beginning of this year when the whole region structure was changed, how many Mobile Mini people were moved into GM or higher positions? Not many.
How many WS people had to apply for their GM or higher position? Zero.
WS has always, and will continue to treat the old MM people as secondary employees.
The Willscot CEO and WS corp sales managers were the ones who got greedy and put the company in this mess.

This company is so poorly run it’s not even funny. I’m a MM employee who got let go in this recent round of layoffs. It seems like any old Mobile Mini folks are at risk as WS doesn’t like anyone who doesn’t drink their dirty koolaid.
I got let go along with 100-200? other people because of cost saving measures, but we still just had five—-yes five corp people to our branch for a 10 minute visit. And yes they all went out to the nicest steakhouse in town.

I always wondered WHY each region split into multiple areas with their own GMs/MSMs etc. They hired in a flurry, added so many unnecessary management positions, and now we get multiple emails and impromptu meetings, yelling at us about how we’re not where we need to be. We can’t even get to our numbers because there’s so many meetings discussing how we can get more numbers. My first suggestion, enough with the meetings. I am in meeting h*ll.

Everyone needs to get on glassdoor.com and indeed and add their experiences to warn people to steer away from this place

Sales division is run by a bunch of sc-m. they should be ashamed. This hit drivers to techs to coordinators. They went after MMI employees the most. More rounds to come. I would say another 500-1000. the place has the worst service already, its going to tailspin. The shareholders need to look at the 100+managers who need to be kicked to the curb. do they expect the mcgrath people to take over the terminated roles? word is most of them will be terminated in a year. cannot wait to say goodbye-

Should have cut some of the hundreds of sales managers that don’t do anything and could never sit in my seat and sell anything

It is too bad but should have happened 2 years ago. when I was there it was crazy how it all still felt divided inside we treated storage people not nicely now too many modular engineer men in charge

Too bad. I’m sure this plays into some long term strategy. Regions poorly performing were not more affected than top performing regions. This is why I find this curious. It makes no sense to level the headcount across areas that are busier than average.

I’m wsmm. Seems like they are starting with customer service sales and transportation coordinators cause they can put the sales and customer service duties on computer and boc’s curious to see who’s next on the chopping block. I’m sure at some point drivers will get the notice since they are one of the higher paid hourly employees.
