Silent Layoffs

Willscot just had massive layoffs across the country. Over 1000 employees were informed the past two weeks with no announcement by the board or CEO.

Willscot is simply gross. Zero value placed on emoyees unless at upper management level. Just acquired mcgrath and those poor ba----d have no idea how they just set themselves of for failure and never ending confusion. Willscot Canada should be out of business. They are ripping off their customers and even create targets for damage fees. Willscot USA has their heads up their butt holes. Looking forward to watching it crumble. Just feel bad for the McGrath team. They made a deal with the devil

The company is out of date and out of touch. This is the beginning of the end. These corporations are failing.

Company became a joke. Lack of work or work is slow not making enough money if you look into it this company owns ally of small companies that are under the radar with a a different name I saw the list myself. It let go of a lot of good people and left scrambling. Why don’t they sell the small companies and keep the employees. Bunch of BS white collar executives buying escorts as well.

It's amazing that they would lay off so many good people but not surprising. As the company is hemorrhaging money, they keep a CEO making roughly $17M a year. He drives a Lamborghini to work. I personally spoke with a VP that brags about spending $1,700.00 on dinner on a regular basis. I saw first hand someone get fired for being under the influence at work and refused the dr-g test. They turned around and said they were fired because of their color and they were paid close to $20,000.00 to avoid bad press. This company is so woke and snow-flakey it would rather layoff good hard working people than upset those who might sue for discrimination.

A lot of good people were let go and likely many under-performers. Leadership outsourced a lot of corporate jobs overseas to save salary $$. The leadership product pricing strategy from the CEO still being pushed down to the sales teams is “get rate when you can”….aka sc--w customers if they are not price conscious…. aka greed That is why the yards all across the company have been filling up for years. United Rentals and other competitors are reaping the rewards of WillScot poor leadership. Board of Directors where are you?

To the person saying that only Mobile Mini people were cut. Not true. The entire Williams Scotsman (Willscot) Customer Success and Transportation teams in the Harmans (Baltimore) office were let go.

I believe everyone in our division, region, whatever the he-l it’s called now, that was let go was a Mobile Mini employee. Stronger Together, my a-s. This new win locally BS was a corporate slogan that technically meant, “Let’s make the markets local so the WS guys can learn the MM jobs so we can show the MM employees the door.”

Sad, as its not the employees fault, as the corporate heads got so greedy the last few years by CONSTANTLY raising pricing and gouging their customer base, that customers have left and many don't even consider doing business with this company any longer since companies like United Rentals have entered the market. Just plain greed led to this and now they're suffering because of it - just look at the stock price the last few months.

How many jobs were lost because management takes private jets and $500,000 management retreats?

Back around Thanksgiving 2022 they cut a ton of top performers. NAMs, RAMs,etc.
People who had 20 years in were suddenly let go, no notice- just “poof” gone. My spouse was one of them and we thought it was the end of the world.
It wasn’t, it was actually the best thing that could have happened to us.

The only thing the people let go had in common was that they were the highest earners in their position.

Some of these people went on to start an industry related (though not containers) company and they’re doing quite well.
If you’re one of the ones who found yourself cut this round, chin up.
This may be a time you look back on thankfully as the time your life changed for the better.
Good luck.

it was company wide. big shock is that the awful Enterprise Account managers and their "executive management team' are sitting pretty while doing nothing but collecting paycheck. mostly yard, sales, and some drivers- the boots on the ground. the company is toxic at every turn. what the heck are the going to do to fully gut mcgraath?

The person above is correct- There seems to be no rhyme and reason to who they cut. Good performers and Bad performers From Yard employees to Regional. BC's and also enterprise team . And there are more to come.

@xwr+1sVjFjaN

That is wholly untrue lol. It was not just bottom performers.

I know a BC that had 10 years leading his branch cut. I know multiple salesman that were pretty damn good get cut. We lost a KAM that was doing ki-ler numbers over the last few years.

You completely made that up

Willscot MobileMini is one of the worst companies out there to work for. I was there many months ago and left because this place was a sinking ship. It doesn't surprise me that these layoffs happened and to some of their best people as well. Management at this company is incompetent and the stock at this place will continue to tank.

Doesn’t matter what you call it it’s still a layoff

by

Post ID: @pvi+1sVjFjaN

It wasn’t a mass layoff, the bottom sales performers were let go for bad Q1 performance and all the reps from billing were provided severance as the latest automation and merging of systems between mini mobile and willscot made their positions redundant
