Yup, manager confirmed today. Very few promotions and no merit increases. Layoffs from AWS and VMC team next week as well.

What about bonus? Hearing no bonus

You've heard nothing of the sort. You're making things up. Why?

Broadcom lives and dies by its RSUs and bonuses.

How does Hock’s àss taste?

Promotions?

Salary increase?

What planet are you on?

Increased revenue and profit margins > employees.

"we have forgotten to be thankful"

Worst attitude ever. Think that the owner is granting some undeserved, altruistic favor by allowing you to work at his glorious company?

YOU are making projects go forward, and you have a product to sell. Namely, your expertise and effort. Get what you can in exchange.

Otherwise you're buying into the myth that the One-Percenters are the real engine of the economy and that anyone under them is just a Taker.

Why would anyone in VMW expect a promotion - we've done f'all

There will be promotions but no salary increases with them.

accepted it with the expectation that our salary increase will help cover the payout we took.

Was that in writing? Why would you ever expect that? Why would one of the most notoriously anti-employee companies decide to pay more out of the goodness of their hearts?

“ accepted it with the expectation …”

And there is your mistake.

"Why would there be salary reviews in the same financial year that offers were made after acquisition..."

Because a lot of us was given an offer with a payout and accepted it with the expectation that our salary increase will help cover the payout we took.

I am happy with Broadcom offer from November 2023 and thankful to Hock for all the RSUs.
Its difficult to earn a dollar and we have forgotten to be thankful.

Many promotions are already in progress. I know there's no salary increase but there will be promotions.
