For those that have been through an MOR before in Shell, appreciate it if you can give advice to those that have been impacted (never experienced this before and I’m super nervous). How do we get ready? Is there hope for job placements? How do we network? Any other random advice you can think of that would be helpful?

Some jobs cease to exit and it is those people that need to be very worried. All of the jobs that will be posted have an incumbent in them as they were only impacted based on skill pool reduction. For those in the cease to exist category - you will only get a job by taking one from the incumbents and that is very unlikely unless those incumbents don't apply for their own job.
If you are looking for the American Dream, join an American company. Preferably one that pays more attention to technical excellence and business results than pronouns. There are lots of opportunities out there and I know many people that have prospered after leaving Shell.
I have a family and two kids wife is stay at home mother, my position was just eliminated probably outsourced to India. The American dream is over
Leaders won’t tell us total impact.
What’s the point of work, now that you know there’s no hope. How many were total impacted ?
What a beautiful company destroyed by those pricks Ben can Beurden and the likes. Shame and disgrace
This company wants to sell 1/3 of their assets - mostly in "high cost" countries.
Congratulations for not having been impacted thus far in your career, but now that you are impacted you need to determine 3 things: 1) Odds of successfully posting in MOR (if you have to repost for your role, vs taking a job that you really don't want just to stay with Shell) 2) if waiting around for a severance is worth it based on years of service ( or not) - versus finding work with another company. Run the numbers! This passive aggressive behavior of making people repost for their jobs is definitely unique to the Majors (ask your network outside of the biz), 3) There will be many more reorgs/asset sales, so even if you survive this one, is it really worth staying?
There is no voluntary severance packages.
“ From IDE webcast today, there is no package for step 1 for P&T across”
Please translate this out of corporatese into English lol
From IDE webcast today, there is no package for step 1 for P&T across.
Don't wait to find something else. The company doesn't care about you. Especially if you are 50+. They will find any reason to take away your severance.
India surprisingly isn't taking all roles from local areas. the most recent re-org in Canada saw them take jobs back from India.

Honestly I don’t see how your manager can help. After all he or she is the person who picked you in the layoff list.
India is taking all of the jobs that can be done remotely. Take a look at jobs internal and location India. Tons of jobs compared to other parts of the world
@cjj+1sVR4gNj do u mean they layoff the new hire first?
Are you a new hire in the past two years? Look for a role out side of Shitl now. I always question myself why I ended up here. The salary is not even that great compared to peers.
Performance is only part of it. There are so many factors could be taken into account, so look outside of Shell now just in case.
Your manager is there to help you through this process. Make sure you follow the guide on how to do your talent card (it is complex) and be sure to be very specific in your application/resume about how you can bring value to the role you are applying for and all related experience as there are no interviews so it needs to speak for you. Ask yourself if you are in the top 80% in your location and job grade for the job you do. If you are in the bottom 20% you are likely to know this already because you have gotten lower ratings or interventions and bad feedback from others. That is when I would start looking for a role outside the company.
Wake up people. If you haven’t started looking for plan B, you deserve very much the layoffs “off guard”.
This time is different for past MORs. My advice is to start looking for an outside job just in case.
