Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Navi losing business

Humana is not renewing a couple states for 2025. (Plus BCBSM is leaving.) Not looking good for Navi in the layoff environment.

Do you anticipate more lay-offs in the Pre-service? Did they let go some PSCs this time? I heard CTMs for both PSC and SICC, SCM for SICC dept and whole HHCC department last day is 3/31. PSC here and planning for the inevitable.

Navi brought this on themselves. When they first started they determined how long and how much care people in nursing homes received. A lot of folks passed away, returned to hospitals, returned home too soon. At the end of the year they showed the government how Much better they could run the business. All the money they made from the early discharges resulted in LARGE bonuses for the higher ups. That was 5-6 years ago. Not surprised they have failed. Thank goodness for their
Patients. This new system rewards for decreased hospitalizations. Nursing homes now receive bonuses. Nurses are threatened not to send patients out. Healthcare is strictly business now. Bonuses for the higher ups and
Poor quality of care!!! I

They added the clinical leads to the field staff last year just before getting rid of a bunch of CTMs/SCMs

I had a feeling that when they added those clinical lead jobs that it would lead to a reduction in CTMs! I just do not think any position is safe with company. Why did NaviHealth merge with this company?

No idea, but would think this summer and possibly again in the fall? My gut is thinking they will get rid of a bunch of CTMs next time around. Hence getting the clinical leads picked - that will take care of the running the reports etc.

This makes me feel ill reading this. I work on the preservice side of thing and my managers are making our lives a living he-l. We are already stressed about losing Blue Cross in September, rumors about HAP may not renew and now Humana? I hope they get rid of the CTM’s and keep most of us. The CTM’s don’t do anything except harass us and run reports which honestly can be done via a program. Most don’t even know what we do but act like they do. Does anyone know when the next round of layoffs are for Navi?

They are purposely treating their staff horribly at least on the pre-service side. they want ppl to quit so they don’t have to pay to lay them off.

Navi will start with the horrible management team of CTMs. Micromanaging, lazy and zero experience who treat the employees terrible. I have a friend whom they were terrible to. Little did they know. She knows people in higher places who will now term their arses. For real. They will transfer most of the workers and nix the management. Finally.

No it’s not. I’m sure other states will follow if not right away.
