Germany: 5300 employees are interested to leave SAP

Instead of 2600 5300 (!) employees are interested to leave SAP on a voluntary base. Wow! Seems to be too much money or other way round SAP is not an attractive employee any more.
Number 5300 is not offically confirmed by SAP. According to German press SAP may not accept all applications to leave SAP.

According to this article, after translation from Google:
https://www-welt-de.translate.goog/wirtschaft/article252649410/Softwarehersteller-SAP-will-mehr-Stellen-streichen-als-geplant-trotz-deutlichem-Umsatz-Plus.html

"Europe's largest software manufacturer, SAP, is expanding its job cuts program because many employees are willing to accept them. Instead of 8,000 jobs, 9,000 to 10,000 of the current jobs are to be cut, the Walldorf-based company announced on Monday evening after the US stock market closed. At the end of the second quarter, there were 105,315 jobs - almost 3,000 fewer than three months previously."

Agree - take the VR if it is good; don't be tied to a company that in most cases dont give a f%%%^ about you

The package offered in Germany is insane. You'd be crazy not to take it.

To me, this is why taking the VERP in 2024 was a no- brainer. Now they can offset excess VERP payout in Germany with YS RIF’s in 1Q2025. Those who declined VERP in 2024 were given a false promise that they could still get VERP severance if RIF-ed before EOY 2024. Now that false promise can be a RIF/layoff in 1Q2025.
