Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Yearly pay increase this year?

It's been pretty silent regarding the annual pay hike. Does anyone know if we are going to have one this year ?

Go do some job interviews. You will discover that you can get a huge pay raise by working somewhere else. Sabre has financial restrictions that prevent it from paying market rate pay and has done for many years. Before COVID Sabre had huge additional costs due to the Silverlake loans and consulting fees. So Sabre has not been able to pay market rate for wages for about a decade. Plenty of other companies, especially in other industries, pay market rate pay or better. Sabre pay happens to be below average but you have other options.

Company is saving serious money thanks to attrition in US, it's fair to expect that employees, especially the good ones, who are going to now deal with all the mess after re-org and will be affected by significan increase in their workload are offered pay rise and promotions. But can we realistically expect anything fair from this employer anymore?I doubt it.We are told by leadership that we should welcome all this as great opportunity lol.Opportunity to work more, stress more, for nothing in return. Thanks Sabre!looking for a new job.

The person who posted is from India or MVD. While US employees are struggling to keep their jobs to pay mortgages and feed their families, these leeches want a raise. Run away from this company as fast as you can.

What do you expect? You get 1 cent but C-Suite get 1 million.

I think they will freeze raises and promotions this year unless you’re in India or Poland

So, salary is not a luxury. Profits are not needed to pay decent salaries to employees. If the business model is viable, a company can run for a very long time without net profit. Net profit is for capital owners. If they are not happy with the current situation, investors can change the upper management.

Underpaying people is only a good strategy in the short term. It lowers costs and helps shrink the workforce due to higher attrition. However, it is most likely that the best people will leave the company, and only those who struggle to be hired by someone else will stay.

Penny wise, pound stupid.

In my opinion Sabre should freeze raises as they did a few years back. They are bleeding money and have not had a net profit since before 2020. This company is a ticking time bo-b.
