Thread regarding National Grid PLC layoffs

Project Apollo - another name for layoffs and force reduction

It was finally announced that National Grid will be reorganizing all it's IT roles under the name Apolllo. Lots of people left with nowhere to go with very few answers.
As usual, trying to put a positive spin on a chaotic organization and poor leadership.

I worked for Keyspan and NationalGrid for 17 years combined. Upper management has always been a problem. They are older, not interested in technology and don’t take different viewpoints from others too kindly. You have to be a no sir, yea sir otherwise you won’t make it for long.

Been with grid for ten years. I’m am actively looking now. It is hard to believe that the place is still in business after all the years of truly horrific management practices that I have witnessed and suffered in the gas business.

Worked for National Grid (its predecessors) for decades. It absolutely amazes me how bad National Grid is managed. I feel it could be another Enron in the works. The sell off assets to stay profitable.

Lower incentive payouts followed by incredible uncertainty and layoffs will ensure the top talent leaves first. The top performers will not wait to find out if they have employment by October and national grid will be left with the scraps. Poorly run as expected.
