Possible store closings insight

Macy's just recently changed hours for a ton of stores, now closing at 9PM on weekdays and 10 on Friday and Saturday. However some stores remain closing at 8PM. Pay close attention to these stores, there's a massive overlap with them and the rumored closings lists. Very likely this is an indicator of which stores are on the chopping block.

Macys still wants to have unnecessary extended hours for their antiquated stores. Even their favorite F50 stores do not need extended hours because most customers aren’t shopping at any Macys that late. All of the stores probably have more callouts when they extend hours because this standard is often on the weekends.

Last Aug our store was on a pilot program to close at 8pm to match the mall and 6 on Sundays and open at 11 mon-thur anf fri sat 10am. The only time we close hr later is for example this weekend due to friends and family which they always do anyways. The reduction and store hours has helped with pay roll and over head costs as well. And we are not on the chopping block. Corporate has said they are doing this ti save money. The 2 F50 doors in my district though remain at 9pm normal and 10 on extended nights.

Does your store have reduced hours like these others? Interested to see if it's an accurate pattern

Everyone knows that our store is closing. Our Store Manager is transferring to another store and two of the managers transferred in the last month. Rumor is that store closings announcements will start before the end of July.

Sorry I meant that these locations were closing at 8PM on instead of the usual 9PM. Just looking at Maryland: White Marsh, Marley Station, Francis Scott Key, and Security Square, Hartford, St Charles, and the Mall at Prince George's all close an hour earlier.

Marley, Security, Hartford, and Francis Scott Key were all on at least one closing list, and St Charles and White Marsh seem to be spiraling downward very quickly. Wouldn't be surprised if those closed. Stores at all the better malls stay open later.

I think most, if not all stores close at 8 PM on Sundays and every store location near me is currently showing that. Otherwise, it’s 9 and 10 PM. That’s pretty normal hours. I haven’t found a location that seems noticeably different regarding the hours quite yet.
