Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Consultation phase started in the Netherlands!

I suspect a huge RIF, for such a small country they have a huge headcount, and also a whole bunch of people working for the various divisions. From what I gather most remote division folks will be eliminated over time, this is already happening in the US as we speak.

Any update? Any idea how many employees are impacted in The Netherlands?

Clearly all sales jobs can be replaced by a sh---y online form with two options.

  1. Fück me
  2. Fũck me harder

What is so difficult here?

Ah, I guess there is no one technical enough in the company who can create such a solution.

Let’s have the cleaning staff take the orders.

Oh yeah? How many are there? Because there is not a single strategic person anywhere in Europe outside of Ireland and the UK. All VMware employees in those countries are just there for local sales and associated functions.

Because no sane company puts up withe ridiculous union rules. Germany and France are still under consultation until late August!!! And then it will start again for the Omnissa spin out.

By comparison, Germany, which is economically 5 times larger than the Netherlands, has under 50 people in one of the former VMware divisions. All sales people.

How many VMware folks can the Netherlands possibly have?

Was ist the Germans which applauded for their strict laws and then basically got f-cked by HT too?

You couldn’t even opt out by yourself unless chosen by management and take the severance. Imo countries like Ireland, UK and Spain had been far better of despite a less complicated process.

Don't have any hopes. AVGO will just cut left and right and then send jobs to cheap Asian countries. That is their working model and it just works for them and they love it like wild honey. They need to pay their aged CEO huge pay (Only $163 Million) every year. They don't care for you , your family, customers and partners. They are very poisonous snake, you will never know when it will bite and ki-l your job. So update resume and start looking. Good luck !!

Oh no, it’s the Netherlands! How can we possibly close a business there? Never ever happens I guess? Everyone is employed forever in every job. What a wonderful world!

Hock will smash you like he does everything.

Hock will find a way, don’t worry. Just a matter of time.

He will unleash the barbarism on you in other ways in the meantime. Like 5 days a week travel to your empty office. Enjoy the long commute!

Once more for the people in the cheap seats:

Your barbaric US employment laws do not hold water here. NL will be fine.
