Hello Citi folk. I was unexpectedly laid off from Citi last year. Please listen to me. Now is not the time to quit unless you have a job lined up. Let Citi fire you so you can collect your severance and unemployment if necessary. Do not quit because the job market is terribly difficult right now and I haven’t found a job even though I have an advanced degree and many years of experience in the industry. I think there will be in June and then December but they’re trying to get rid of a lot through attrition. I’m really fed up working for this place. Tired of working for these folks that will do everything and anything to keep their post for decades. I’m tired of the micromanagement. I ran away from a terrible workplace that paid me less and to be honest I regret the decision at times. There were so many red flags during my hiring that I should have expected the rest of the experience to be such joke. I’m tired of working like a dog only to be treated as if I’m inadequate and micromanaged for things that are not important and my bosses only caring for how good they look on paper. Worse part is that I know at one point or another I will be their target to eliminate if I’m not already. So waiting for such end also takes its toll.
