@harry potter guy: I beg you to read another book.
Chops every 1-2 years for as long as Wall Street continues to reward it. Nothing else matters. Collapse eventually.

I can’t quit thinking about the last Harry Potter movie and how Prof. Snape meets his end. As far as Voldemort was concerned, Snape was loyal. A lot of good it did him in the end.

Probably just all the British accents at Shell that make me think of this part of the movie - just about every day recemtly, or perhaps it’s how I feel my loyalty will eventually be rewarded.

Expect that any statement from senior management will be along the lines of:

“After discussions with stakeholders and to ensure best identified practices are employed, we are taking quick and decisive leadership action to streamline key functions, harmonizing them into a logical mosaic, creating opportunities to unleash creativity and communication across the organization, thereby achieving results that consistently exceed industry expectations.”

Translation from Management-ese: “We really weren’t thinking we needed to do anything but external analysts and the McKinsey kids advised we needed to shuffle the org deck again to create the appearance progress.”

Initial messaging indicated that the announcement of upstream VPs will occur this week (early June). Let’s see what happens next - what about all the JG1s and JG2s in upstream who currently lack direct reports? How is that still possible?
