Rumor running around that nearly 15% of salary employees jobs are to be cut. What are you hearing?

Yes, 15% cut at PEC in Waterloo for salaried. Though my source said mid August as the timeframe.
I am sooooo curious about how hard they hit older workers - they always do this and I am sure they will do it again. So much for loyalty...

Meeting at 7:15 was J. reading a script. AI shows more compassion.
Remember, humanity is a core value. 🫂🙄
One observation: Deere doesn’t have to worry about Jahmy leaving for a voice acting gig.
Yes-John Deere is cutting workforce, wage & salary-worldwide due to “global economic conditions” reductions will be finalized by end of July.
John May has a history of cutting work force or assets
Are these layoffs going to effect the offices in the Bay Area?
Curious where cuts are going to be made - there are so many efforts that never come to fruition because they never add enough staff or budget to actually see things through to completion.
“Precision Ag” efforts in general are typically understaffed in such a way that small projects take years, big changes can never happen and things just hobble along with cheap labor in Pune. Were damn lucky that no major system has been compromised.
Is the budget for the “Chief Tractor Officer” being cut?
ISG A&A - also the invite to a 15 minute meeting on Monday morning.
For the anon below that asked about who got a meeting invite, I am in ISG D+A.
They wont be offering voluntary buyouts. John May, the current CEO, basically said he'd never pay someone to quit again--as they've had in the past with other downturns.
I haven't gotten a meeting request yet. For those who have, would you mind sharing of you work in SM, engineering, logistics etc? Also if you're tied to a factory or to enterprise?
Mine is a 30 minute invite (Monday 8am) for everyone in my area.
Yes, I got that invite, it's a 15 minute meeting.. is that good or bad?
Anyone else got the mandatory Monday morning meeting?
One data point to pay attention to is how many h1b and greencard and people in the process of receiving their greencards, are selected to stay.
Another is age of those that have been laid off.
And a third data point is how many people that are classified as remote are laid off.
Nice way to enter the summer, knowing something will happen but no one knows what or to whom.
Officially announced they will be letting some salaried and production workforce go over the next three months, no further details than it is official and the plan will be announced by the end of Q3
The last big layoff was a structural change, named SIRD. They completely changed the org chart, removing some branches completely. Many upper level people were demoted. Many were moved. People without positions were offered a severance, but had to sign a non disclosure to get it. So, the terms were less widely shared.
In the past Deere did Voluntarily Separations (VolSep). Employees would get a letter offering a payment based on years of service to leave. It would only be available to certain groups that needed fewer people.
Wouldn’t they do voluntary buyouts before layoffs?
Haven't really heard too much about it, and don't doubt that it could be true. Wish they'd just rip the band-aid off and save people some sanity.
IT, office employees, redundancy in the office at factories. Nothing but talk right now. No specifics. Someone on Glassdoor mentioned an announcement on June 3.
Curious on what salary positions you heard this includes?
