Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Why is Michael Dell acting like Nvidia's partnership the best thing since buttered toast?

For the last two months or so, I get a lot of "suggested" feed on LinkedIn about Michael just absolutely flaunting Dell's partnership with Nvidia as if they're the only company that is an OEM of Nvidia. Today he showed off a golf ball of all things that show the logos of both of the companies. As much as I'm tempted to select an option to remove his posts from showing up on my feed, I enjoy the pure corporate stupidity that is on display here and yes, it makes me feel better about myself. People who believe this much hype for this long makes me question if they have nothing else in life to be excited about.

Seriously, Michael, get a hold of yourself.

I'm still trying to find a use case for my Blockchain and metaverse servers. My dogecoin needs AI in the metaverse so the latest Musktweet will send me to the moon.

I don't blame him. I'd want to inflate the ai bubble as much as possible. All the while cashing out before the pop.

It’s all an incredible front. Outside of the mega deals ie $250m+, there is no pipeline. Your everyday company isn’t buying AI servers.

Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story!

Of course dell is going to hitch its wagon to anything mainstream. It's the proverbial sidekick.

but does anyone seriously consider dell a player in AI?

@1ndn

It's pretty ambitious for Dell to think they can outperform companies who makes hundreds of billions more like Google, Meta, or AWS that can deliver not only their hardware but also their software.

This is why being a purely hardware company like Dell or HPE is going to make you fall flat on your face.

(Not saying you're wrong by the way. Just my two cents.)

You have no clue how important Nvidia is to get to the next stage in AI. If dell is even late by a little in getting on the AI bandwagon, it loses in the market share.
It is important for Dell to message to customers that it is in the AI game.
Whether it delivers or not is a different question.

Cause it’s the only reason/way Dell is pretending to be an AI company
