Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Nielsen's pattern and practices of not promoting hard-working Black leaders to higher positions

Two lawsuits and two Black leaders have voiced similar concerns about Nielsen's discriminatory practices.

The first one is ongoing and the second one has been settled

Tip toeing around minorities and not treating them as full fledged employees, giving them criticism and praise and honest feedback like any other white employee, IS RACISM. Treat people like actual professionals, held accountable. People don’t grow professionally if they’re babied or treated like glass.

I’ve dealt with this infantilizing s-xism
for decades. Then laid off because I’m not performing to standards I was never previously held to.

This isn’t the hot take you think it is, 3ezp..,

For all my criticisms of Nielsen past present, as a former employee of over 15 years (gone a few years now) in client facing positions in NYC where the corp. hacks lived and breathed, I can assure you there was never any overt system discrimination against minorities. Quite the opposite. Managers would tip toe around minorities, in fear of law suits. HR would go out of their way to try and find minorities qualified or with backgrounds suitable to Nielsen. The fact was very few minorities, back in the day anyway, found their way into the advertising ecosystem. I worked at agencies, TV stations, Nielsen, digital companies...and minorities were far and few between. NYC is a destination for talent around America and the world, so it's even harder for minorities to break in here...even for local native NYer's it's tough. If you were from Brooklyn or Queens or Staten Island, you immediately had the "bridge and tunnel" label even if you were white or asian. So I don't buy any of the BS lawsuits.

Loyalty is dead at Nielsen. Especially since Singer took over. Loyalty to the ones known for their excellence is not. He will be all loss of for people who saw their job as vocation and not just as being wage workers for the rich. But as it goes for money there is no sustainability in what we do. Our future buyer surely will realize that numbers could look good but the company has been wrecked.

Justin has my full support.

Looks like he was a director for Nielsen for 7 years and 7 months. Read the lawsuit. Nielsen has a pattern of discrimination.

MAWW will have none of this. Now back to your diversity programs.

I think the Cheryl Grace lawsuit was a couple years before the Justin Franks lawsuit. Guess Nielsen will keep on discriminating and don't care.
