Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

How low can this sinking ship go???

My God.....stock is at 1998 prices.....and Tracey Brown still has a job. What has this leadership team done in the last 6-12 months. Roz started the bonfire, and NO ONE has done anything to stop it. Board - utter failure. Tracy - Total disgrace - just visit a store. Tim - Give us a strategy, and execute against I. Neil - Zero, has literally not done a single thing in IT!

Seriously, how can this be???? Pathetic......

If there are too few people in a certain area, the survey doesn't allow information to be displayed at that level. For instance if people have too few direct reports, they can't see the cumulative scores. Don't spread disinformation about the survey. I don't love WBA, but the survey is one of the only ways we can make our voices heard

For some reason, people think the survey is a way to tell corporate what they think: a way to get corporate to change. It is not.

The survey simply gets rerouted back to your store. So, if you say you do not have the tools to do your job. The survey will get rerouted back to you, and, you will be asked, "What is your plan to get the tools you need to do your job."

If your store scores low, you will have extra work to try to improve your store's score.

Think of it like the complaint line for customers. Customers think corporate will hear them and do something. In reality, the complaint just gets rerouted back to the store to address.

And, just be careful, the survey is broken down by job title. There are a lot of positions in stores that have 1 employee for that position. It is very easy to know who said what.

To @1jj...No doubt the cr-p will rain down on store managers, call center managers, distribution center managers, etc who get bad engagement scores but corporate may still tout high engagement due to high participation. We were informed during a previous survey campaign that engagement didn't necessarily mean that employees were happy. At the end of the day, low pay, under-staffing, and poor benefits will remain hallmarks of working for Walgreens.

That is still no reason to do a survey or whatever you want to call it, so a store manager doesn't have to hear about why employees are not engaged..........from the overpaid do nothing dm's. That is part of the problem right there.

Participation may be how someone at corporate views it as engagement but if your score is low at a store level your telling me that a DPR or DM isn’t going to be all over that manager for how disengaged their people are. That is the biggest crock of 💩. They have never taken what is said about them at corporate with anything but disdain and they turn it on field level because they don’t want to hear how disengaged employees are with this company.

If it means more employee engagement, how about having no employee
even waste their time doing it. They are feeding right into this so called let's get the employees engaged by doing it.

To Burned Out... You mentioned whether the company will be embarrassed by the Engagement Survey. Probably not. In my opinion, participation in the Survey serves as a proxy for engagement and little else. In other words, more employees taking the survey means more engagement. That's why they push employees to do the survey. It's pretty clear what a waste of time the survey is from past years and it's doubtful we'll see the unvarnished results or any positive changes from corporate anyway.

To @gmh these people don’t tell us anything that has become the issue they don’t say or do anything other than cut hours. Or they announce this “perceived great” announcement to the stores where they are going an Every Day Low Price strategy for ad tags. But when you actually read the announcement for this “strategy” it only pertains to certain seasonal promo departments which doesn’t even have that many tags to ultimately get rid of it. This company stopped caring about sales years ago only wanted cut and save money then Roz came in and that all went out the window. With all of the hours being cut we will see what this looks like when school starts back because Do More With Less is going to be that way from now on and if this company posts another bad quarter which they will because they have done nothing but that the last year. They will cut more. They should be embarassed by this Engagement Survey but will they

1998 is now surpassed! We are in 1997 levels now.

$15.95 stock would back to 1997.

Not firing Tracy is exactly why this company keeps sinking. The good, loyal, and productive employees have either been forced out or left. And it's because of the hypocricy around DEI, rewarding bad behavior, and NOT removing people who contribute nothing but make very good money! This company no longer knows good from bad. It's quite sad......

I would think you guys that work at Walgreens would be quite embarrassed. It must be quite comical to have those so called leaders tell you what do ...knowing they have no clue what they are doing and what they tell you does nothing to improve anything. Your company is a joke....say it the way it is.

Not sure firing Tracey will help at this point. As a recent Reddit post pointed out, much of what is happening now is a result of the "do more with less" cost-cutting initiatives instituted more than 10 years ago. Walgreen's culture was changed to the point many loyal employees left and the ones remaining were demoralized and disengaged. Hard to be successful in a customer-facing business with burned out employees. Additionally, little to no investment was made to our out-dated technology and processes to improve efficiency. Roz and friends did the company no favors but Walgreen's downward spiral began sometime ago.
