Does anyone know what the issue with this is now? Managers wanting to know if it was taken and when it was taken, spreadsheets needing to be filled out. PTO requests are being set as tentative. Never has there been this issue before. My state does not require PTO to be paid out on termination and I will not leave anything on the table for them to sc--w me out of, so I'm trying to use it as soon as I earn it. Now they are being a PIA about it. My bet is the floating holiday will not be offered in 2025.

It’s probably fine. I have set people’s PTO to tentative before or not accepted/denied it. Talk with your boss to confirm if there is an issue.
Also, if you want to avoid this in the future, there is a settings in Outlook when making an event that allows you to turn off Request Response so they don’t have a choice in accepting or denying. Just make sure to select the Show as Free option as well so it doesn’t block calendars.
Took mine ASAP, was laid off the following Thursday. Told the folks I still talk to they should take it ASAP if there’s even a remote chance they will be RIFed. I got my full PTO payout (but apparently this varies by state). I also had cranked up my percent contribution to 401k. Hopefully this helps (not saying it’s the best advice for everyone, but it worked for me)
One manager setting PTO as tentative is not an indicator of an issue. They want to remember it without it blocking their calendar. It’s simply an Outlook issue.
I took my floating holiday when I first got it cuz let’s be real, if it walks like a duck and smells like a duck then it’s bullsh-t and another carrot they’ll dangle in front of you like a rabbit
Yes, please let us know what division you are in. Managers setting PTO as tentative is odd behavior. Something is up. Wondering what part of Optum you are in.
What division are you in - this is anonymous so please let the rest of us know
You need to take your floating holiday NOW! Like I mean NOW! They don't track this for no reason and make sure you only have 40 hours max in your PTO.
Odd though... Shouldn't GSS just track this?
Take that floating holiday ASAP, if you have not already! You are smart to take your PTO since you will not be paid out.
Something is going on. Very strange actions on UHG side.
