Walmart is forcing hundreds to either move or quit while there are executives who work from these remote offices who are not required to move. There are others getting exceptions or extensions. Why’s this? Aren’t there enough talented execs out there to give them the ultimatum as well? So, “do as I say but not as I do”. Get us all to BV where there are minimal companies to choose from and then you still might get laid off shortly thereafter. These companies are doing this because they’re enormous and know they can and we like minions must follow. It’s a true abuse of power because they know the economy is horrible and the options for work are few. Shame on you hypocrites.

if someone has field responsibilities, they need to live where their stores are. Makes no sense to bring them to HO and incur expenses for them to travel halfway across the country every week. Do not overthink WM. its about the money
A better plan is this: if you work for Walmart and are being asked to either move or be laid off- just take whatever they offer and get out. I read this elsewhere but it is true, Walmart seriously doesn’t have any loyalty to you. We can find example after example where Walmart will bend you over without blinking an eye. And besides, Bentonville is the suc* capital of the world.
Maybe all the employees hired to be remote during covid, were given permission to move during Covid, and being forced to move to BV need to all contact https://nwaemploymentlaw.com/ and figure out employee rights you have.
Lots of union propaganda BS on many threads. Of course, none of it is true. Their narratives change depending what’s in the news. When layoffs happen, for example, you see a lot of posts claiming that everything would be wonderful with a union. But, that’s not true.
And by the way, those execs and leadership positions that are not required to move (or move right away) are covered more than likely by employment contracts with work location stipulations.
If you want the same treatment, go get your masters degree and take an executive level position somewhere.
Employees would have the senior bumping rights if they were Union and would not have to move. No Union means No Rights and especially no right to complain.
Exec's positions are AI layoff bait due to just sitting around on the computer. Most physical workers are paid 100 x less and do work sometimes AI cannot. Common worker is budget friendly, but Exec's salary and bonuses are not. The steady drop fills the bucket so stay low til economy gets better.
You bet! They carefully planned it all so it wasn’t fair, and they did it intentionally! Those slimy Walmart leadership dogs!
Jeez. What a whiner.
Grow a pair.
If predictions of AI replacing those behind computers all day at a rate of 40% replacement come true it is no time to work from home. Work from home was a test to gather numbers to see if AI could save companies money. In a spiraling economy they might consider training for physical work positions as a last choice safety net.
Playing spreadsheets in BV is no different in any other location. Why worry when you can just be an omnipresent bore no matter the location?
The real reason nobody has said yet is because the new home office will be a hybrid for-profit prison. If everyone is playing prisoners & spreadsheets from home how can they explain a ghost town prison/home office?
The world does not revolve around You. Get out in the stores and work, those people are on the front lines. You get your salary no matter what, hours get cut at store level, but the same expectations exists. Companies do not create jobs around you.
