Why is it taking some people so long to learn how to run a register? It's not that hard, we all know it. It's starting to feel like we-ponized incompetence, just so they could have somebody else do their jobs for them. Or we are really scraping the bottom of the barrel when hiring new employees these days?

Macy's register software is very user friendly and easy to learn. Sounds like they are scraping the bottom of the barrel when hiring, and maybe hiring foreigners. Does the US government pay Macy's to hire people born outside of the United States? It sure seems that way sometimes.
Yeah trainings all on computers, a few years ago we were starting to train people hands on and stuff and was rumored to have a seasonal person just for training and it went quite well i made a lot of friendships training people but there were quite a couple ppl who just couldn’t understand the magic technology that is macys registers
I remember we trued training a lady for a whole week till we just gave up.
Like come on most of it is common sense and all you have to do is read the screen
Training is all on computers. So not by a person.
Maybe it’s the trainers not the new employees 🤡
Same situation everywhere.
