It's an investment play, not cost-cutting task.
And he does invest in all the chips that surround the precious GPUs and LPUs and gets customers to pay up front.
His cost cutting exercise to to milk the VMware software biz that has very little to do with AI, aside from supporting virtualization of GPUs and that won’t be cut.
