Yes - I want to serve a company that gaslighted me and set me up for failure. Then put me on PIP before forcing me to resign telling me that if I don't, then they will tarnish my license to keep me from working my trade again. Got to love these people. Please let me work there again. I am begging to experience it all over again!!!

I don't know everyone that got let go or forced to resign from Schwab, but the few that I know actually got rehired elsewhere for increased pay - in a minimal time (of course, it takes a month or so for interviews, background check, etc.). They ended up with more base, bonus.

If it feels like you are training your replacement you are. I think it Happened to me.

First, you are talent, not a resource. Next - IMO, not a good time to return unless you really cannot find anything else and will continue to look.

Continued job insecurity, no certainty on the RTO policies, absolutely zero professional development compared to other firms. Yes, they now give you 8 hrs to attend firm-sponsored same-old same-old sh-t — nothing that actually provides any real information. They say "talk to your manager" and your manager knows nothing. There are the Aspiring Leader Programs, but you have to be appointed/annointed for those. I've been told to bring up interest to my manager, which I did. I got exceeds, but I haven't heard anything about the ALP this year - for all I know it was not continued. Job Shadowing is a joke. Can't get approval for certifications or conferences unless absolutely required for job, unless you're an MD and then you get to travel and take Wharton courses for $20K per tuition not including travel costs.

They count swipes and treat us like 5 year olds. Zero events. No one is happy, everyone is miserable, but senior leadership will say how everyone is so engaged - they are not. Everything is performative. I will likely not make it through the next layoff round b/c most of my director-level duties have been given to my manager. There are much younger employees wanting to do "stretch assignments" and I'm the one to handle those - feel like I'm training my replacement.

I was full on looking for other opportunities until I just needed a break - so haven't looked in the last 2-3 months. I will be doing a refresh on resume, etc. over the summer. In my position, the salary at Schwab is much better than the other legacy places I've looked. Fintech offers remote and similar salary, but there are 500+ applicants for all of those jobs. But, I'm not a fool to just be a sitting duck here even though manager and MD say I'm a "high performer" (but then why did I get the same raise as when I only "met" last year and same bonus they gave to those who got mets)?

Why would you go back to a company that rejected you?

Ugh. Why would you want to go back after how they blatantly disregarded you?

I’d rather work at at 7-Eleven before I’d go back to Schwab.

Other firms are hiring. Why on earth would you want to go back to Schwab and relive the nightmare? They don't even pay that well.

They hire you. Severance may need to be refunded (pro rated). Time in service is generally continued.

There are a lot of Schwaberangs with different experiences. My opinion is that it was worth considering years ago, but that returnees needed to make sure that it is best for them and that they can surrender animosity regarding their layoff.

Today I wouldn’t recommend anyone return. The company defined its intentions and they are not employee friendly or opportunities for career growth. Some may argue that is industry wide, but speaking with other company managers there are still better opportunities elsewhere.
