Read the story of the frog and the scorpion.
The frog is a worker bee who puts in the billable time and more to help less experienced staff, support sales, and find the next big thing in technology and partnerships. This includes some (not all) directors.
Most "directors" have earned their titles via politics and/or longevity. Being around a long time doesn't impart intelligence, motivation, or maturity. "Leadership" is sure finding that out the hard way. The real damage is from the corruption and incompetence at the MD and above level, a death knell for PRFT.
The scorpion is "leadership" telling the worker bees, "let me ride on your back and encourage you, and you'll swim us both to success!" But we all know what awaits the hopeful, dutiful frog, don't we?
