Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

PTO front-loading and using time off

Not only use up your vacation time ... but also your sick time, volunteer hours (24) and any other hours you may be entitled to. I'm not trusting that the company will pay out vacation time (I do not have unlimited PTO as some have stated) and will be front-loading my vacation and personal time off.

I keep a close eye on where my sick time is too and use it immediately once it hits 4 or 8 hours so not to lose it. Calling it a "mental break" from all of Nielsen's toxicity. It's a shame as I've never had to really use sick time, maybe once or twice a year if that. Now it's a monthly must have to keep the stress in check, and I'm not leaving any time on the table.

Use your time and try not to let the mayhem overwhelm you. I wonder how the folks in HR can reconcile themselves to do this work everyday. They are like the guards at a concentration camp. Eventually this will hit the news and some panelists will start hearing about how Nielsen is destroying itself and moving all its employees cheaper labor market.

The company has cut severance benefits in half and is looking to further reduce costs around every corner with no regards to the current workforce … so yeah, employees should be doing the same by watching out for themselves and not the company’s best interests.

A new low indeed by a name now irrelevant in the media world, led by bottom of the barrel management and a discount CEO.

… also with negative NPS (net promoter scores) on their product line apparently. Go figure, and about to get much worse with cheap offshore labor.

That’s so sick. And sad. That employees feel the need to grasp at every dollar because they fear the powers that be will take them out in a heart beat. The company has gone to a new lower level. Despicable
