Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Macy*s was oversaturated back in 2010. Stores taking sales from each other and others eating massive returns everyday. They could have cut the number of locations down years ago, but building leases and other factors came into play. With the pandemic online crushed it and traffic died, and more malls fell well below 75% occupancy. Now they are in a very different bind and need to basically lop off a large number of stores to remain relevant.

Still cannot believe how JG destroyed this company. There were always gonna be challenging times but he actually enjoyed the carnage especially getting rid of the best folks. Watched him do i while I saw no evidence of brilliant leadership, innovation or great merchandising skills.
