Want a solid answer to your question? Don't ask that question here. This is a forum where you have a 50/50 chance of getting a good answer. Why? First of all, a good number of people posting here are trolls just itching to go on another rant about CK (note: he deserves what he is getting here...) Second, this is a forum with colleagues from all over the world posting. If you are in the United States, eligibility for Unemployment varies from state to state. So, use Google or whatever to see what your state says. Each state has a detailed, albeit somewhat boring, website chock full of the kind of mundane information we all need in situations like the one we are currently enduring.

... and good luck.

Check state laws

Severance pay is not wages for unemployment insurance purposes and does not affect the claimant’s eligibility for unemployment benefits.
