After someone works here for 10+ years, giving blood, sweat, tears, nights/weekends, and making family sacrifices, maybe next time you could have the trained managers firing everyone, to start off with a "THANK YOU FOR YOU SERVICE", BEFORE they end their 2 min script from you. Lame, shame on you!

Yeap. No thank you for not pushing back when we bounced you from site to site. No thank you for taking extra assignments without compensation. No. After 16th, my boss read a cold script over the phone
After all the years I put in and the relationships I made, particularly with the very people that were on the call giving me the boot, I expected more than a cold, emotionless, kick to the curb with a total lack of compassion like I was some stranger.
Now you know for your next job. Don't ever put work over your family. Don't work more that what you are compensated for. It's just a job, it's just a means to an end not your life. Sorry you lost you job however, I know better things will come to you since your clearly a hard worker!
"The fireside chat three days before cuts had 11+ THANK YOUs. You know the one where they talked about a 99B revenue up 8% year over year. If big profits cannot save our jobs what will?" - Right! How does he sit there and spew the BS he does and then lay off a huge portion of the company a few days later. Witty needs to go. I thought our last leader was bad, but Witty is the worst I've seen in many, many years.
Managers giving are gonna go too. The ones who project the almighty are 1st to go.

Unfortunately, they are give. A script they have to read. That’s how much people mean to the company.
Not every company does layoffs this way and moreover, even if they did, many decent empathetic humans rightly refuse to normalize such behavior as just business. Ethics matter. As far as saying thank you, it’s the right thing to do in addition to meaningful severance. My personal opinion is that layoffs aren’t the result of “headwinds” or “market conditions”. They are always the fault of leadership error. Lest you believe I am anti layoff, I am not. I am in favor of layoffs when necessary. However, they need to eliminate every C-suite employee before touching other areas to discourage balancing the budget on the backs of people that didn’t fail in overeager projections/greed/overpriced services people don’t want.
So an email to your personal email address is better ? Every company does it this way hr does the talking reads a script cleared by legal, you direct manager is there not allowed to say a word as soon as the call ends usually your access goes poof. In some instances they say you got 2 weeks to look internal for another position but that is a fools errand nobody succeeds in that since you been voted off the island. I think the anger is you all bent for being a fool for working your a-s off for nothing since in the end did not make a difference you thought you were in the club but nope
Eh. If I'm being laid off, a perfunctory "thanks" as they do it isn't worth much to me. That would be the least of my concerns.
Agee!! Maybe use AI next time, it would write a better 2 minute script than a human in HR. I felt like it was a huge "F U, thanks for nothing (except for filling our pockets)"
