Just give me money and I’ll do what is required. No more. No less. Middle of the pack is the safest place to be

"OmniTurd is what they'll call us.

OmniObsolete would be accurate since the legacy UEM and VDI offerings are often replaced by lower-cost and less complex cloud-native solutions. We're going to end up with a small group of very large enterprise customers who continue to rely on the on-prem sunk investment in our EUC platforms. There is no significant reason for other customers to stay with us. Most of us in sales have few prospects in our pipeline. And, Microsoft is all over my accounts trying to convince the CIO that we're doomed.

"How is that a downgrade? It’s the opposite. You are being told you need to step up and be a true SE. I guess you haven’t worked anywhere other than VMware in an SE role! Most companies don’t have a luxury overlay team, they are THE SE. That means they have to be a product expert and do the account things from a technical view point.
If all you are capable of is rocking up to do a demo or POC when asked, you are not really an SE, you’re the same as a PS consultant and should be compensated the same.
Time to step up and do the role of an SE or step out and take your over entitled ego somewhere else."

If this is an upgrade instead of a downgrade, where is the pay increase? The SEs are being told to do more administrative and account development work rather then technical sales which is what a specialty SE does. At the end if the day, the job description has changed and is no longer what we are signed up for when we joined the company. Speaking of which, where are the job descriptions that define the SEs roles? I don't think anyone has seen them or clearly knows what the SE's roles are any more...

I have stepped up! we all have... since the start of my journey with vMWare, multiple times. All to save the back of the management who continue to sc--w things up for which I have to step up and fix. Things like GSS or PS services which has gone to sh!t... or our product quality and R&D which has also gone downhill. Many of us have stepped up to bridge the gap for these shortcomings... myself included. Maybe it is time for management to step up.

Sounds like you are either part of the management team lurking around here or aspiring to join the management team... either way, it is clear that the employees are being seen as disposable.

A name change won't motivate our EUC customers to forget how we failed them.

OmniTurd is what they'll call us. Different company name, same obsolete products.

"Time to step up and do the role of an SE or step out and take your over entitled ego somewhere else."

Said the guy who knows nothing about our SEs. The same guy called them "dead wood".

True: So far the whole thing has been nothing but a sh!tsh0w...

The EUC SEs are being downgraded to "Account SEs".

"When will this stop? There is not an ounce of motivation or energy left in my team..."

Ditto, with my team. KKR should have given hope to employees, partners, and customers by introducing plans to refresh the EUC leadership team with new proven exec talent. The KKR press release content didn't change the minds of any of my customers who received the Microsoft offer - they're leaving us. One CIO said we've just lost their trust. It's over.

So far the whole thing has been nothing but a sh!tsh0w... The EUC SEs are being downgraded to "Account SEs". They are being asked to do twice the amount of work and more with the same pay... the customers are leaving the product as they are realizing that VMware EUC (now Omnissa) has been managed by people who clearly have no direction, the support has been a joke for years... and to add salt to injury Microsoft is now giving free 1 year subscription to their product which makes this decision very easy for customers. There is so much confusions and "smoke and mirror" show within VMware since the "merger" announcement. Ironically, we have always been able to find more truth here on this site rather then from our own leaders... all while being told by our leaders to "not pay attention to rumors". When will this stop? There is not an ounce of motivation or energy left in my team...

"Just because you aren't seen as valuable as you thought you were isn't Broadcoms fault."

While it's true the EUC BU was already in decline, HT contributed to the "fire sale" price that KKR paid to acquire the BU assets. Also, Wall Street analyst reporting was complicit in the devaluation of EUC. The upside business value is yet to be realized. Wait and see.

"than Broadcom was for VMware."

I think Broadcom was very skilled in handling the VMware dead wood, and it continues to be. Just because you aren't seen as valuable as you thought you were isn't Broadcoms fault.

"KKR is presumably confident it will be able to land the trademark, despite the existence of Omnidirectional Space Situational Awareness – which uses the acronym OmniSSA."

Let's hope that KKR is more skilled in managing this transition than Broadcom was for VMware. The rebranding and relaunch of the EUC BU is complicated by the HT blunders. He described our product portfolio as less desirable for AVGO's profitability goals. The Industry analysts didn't help by sharing their plan to discontinue coverage of the EUC market due to a lack of enterprise CIO interest in UEM and VDI technology. We now need skilled leadership to regain the lost momentum when our BU's future was in question.
