Severance + Unused PTO?

Does anyone know if we are paid out for unused PTO on top of the severance package?

depending on the state. DO NOT sign the severance agreement until you have reconciled all outstanding paying and benefits not paid on your last pay checks. Once you sign the agreement they will not review any unpaid benefits you left on the table. I was cheated out of a week of unpaid PTO.

I was laid off in the November 1st sweep and did not get paid out for any PTO or accrued vacation time.

True but even if state doesn’t require pto was paid out for the Nov impacted but it was an average calculation unless u worked with HR for the exact number remaining. So some for more days some less if you didn’t followup.

No they don't unless your state requires the company to pay out PTO. Read your employee handbook

Depends- for salaried associates they take an average so if you have your own tracking make sure you share what you still have left if they aren’t paying you out for all of your untaken time based on theirs and your calculation. They aren’t consistent sometimes they pay out sometimes they don’t. Are there more layoffs current or is this from the last round?

Yes! I was laid off from Home Office after 23 years in November and they do pay out any unused PTO time.
