Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Optum layoffs for HBMC tomorrow (4/18)?

15 min “Business Update) meetings (individual) put on our calendars for tomorrow with our VP of Clinical Ops. Should I be nervous?!

Updates: most physician leaders and associate medical directors were laid off... I know physician jobs are easy to get and there's always someone hiring, but moving and starting over is so hard

The referenced 3 year contract would be null if the company terminates the employment. You wouldn’t be obligated to repay any monies or abide by the terms of there is a non-compete mentioned.

To those who may be affected by this round of layoffs... NO fear. It is a blessing. While it does not feel that way at the moment, at some point it will. You will no longer have to endure the fear of the unknown. You will be set free to get up each day with a bit less stress and be able to navigate your next steps without fear. Stand tall and stand proud. You were not let go because of YOU - you were let go because of a cost cutting measure so that the company can boost its financial posture and provide shareholder value. It does not mean you did not perform. It means they use it as cost control.

Best of luck in your future endeavors.
Be selective, Be Strong, Be Fearless.
YOU will overcome this blip in the road!!

"terminate without cause" but they include that in all contracts. Just want to know how enforceable it really is

What does your CONTRACT state on term before end-date?

The "business update" Meeting is not individual. Look like it includes a lot of medical directors and physician leaders. No forewarning regarding this meeting either. So it's a bit strange. Not sure what's going to happen, but I will post here again after the meeting to keep everyone informed.

If I have a 3 year job contract, how does the payoff process work since I'm still under contract?
