That makes total sense...I was salaried, so maybe that's why.

Unlimited PTO in the US is limited to salaried employees. Hourly employees don't get it. May be other exceptions too.

I had been with the company nearly 17 years....I didn't know a single employee that didn't have unlimited PTO - I remember the co rolling it out years ago and thought it was for everyone? Why wouldn't you have it too? How odd??

Just to make it clear- I am not a call center employee. I’m a full time employee along with the rest of my team and the teams we work with. All employed by Nielsen in the US. None of us receive unlimited PTO and many of us have been here for decades.

No we are regular employees. You have multiple people now telling you the entire US doesn’t get unlimited PTO. Whoever told you that is misinformed. Please stop spreading it. Thank you to the person who answered the question. It appears they will pay out the unused time that you accrue.

It has to be the type of employee you are then. Are you at a call center?

"There is unlimited PTO in the US for this reason....so they don't have to pay out accrued unused vacation days....so no, in the US they don't pay out accrued days. In EU they probably do though."

There is NOT unlimited PTO in the US. Not sure where that is coming from Also YES, I rec'd all my accrued, unused days on TOP of the severance.

Easy to say “congrats” now while you’re still getting paid/severance. Not going to feel the same way in eight months when you’re still looking for a job in this sh-t a-s market.

We’re all so fu---d.

the entire US does not have unlimited PTO; I'm full time and my department has 2-4 weeks depending on years worked. It accrues over the year.

No they do not. I am full time and so is the rest of my team and all the teams we work with.

FYI the entire US does not get unlimited overtime. I am in the US and have been with the company for over 10 years and have never had unlimited PTO and I don’t know anyone who does.

Thanks for the update, best of luck! A tad jealous you’re done being with this place and no longer under the threat of layoffs. You know it’s bad when you come into work and are actually hoping to get it all over with already…

I have watched these threads for YEARS...only commenting once I was laid off last year. I have literally never....ever....seen such not worried responses to talks of layoffs. You all really are over this company and clearly don't give a s*it, lol.

Good for you....I wish I had better perspective when I was laid off....I would have spent way less time worried and scared : )
