Wouldn't it be a regression in your career even if everything else remains the same considering future opportunities and how it will look in your career path?

Funny because us young ones can't get jobs because they want years and years of experience. I wonder what exactly is going on?
Despite Job market reports, it's not as good as advertised. If you want to stay in the financial sector understand that every bank is laying off. You have the Citi name attached to you and that's not a good thing. I am still employed but want out of this mess. Unfortunately, despite my network of connections and applying for about 1,000 jobs since Jan, (not an exaggeration) I have had 2 interviews and zero offers. You are competing with about 30k of your peers as well as younger, fresh recruits who will take less money. I have 30 years in this industry with all the major banks and a very accomplished career. Citi pretty much ruined that for me. I may just have to sell my house and retire to escape this mess.
I know people in Getzville that were c12 and have been demoted to b12 . A whole team had this happen .
I believe Demotion means SVP's and D's will be demoted to IC roles. @OP has to clarify.32
did I miss a memo? What demotion?
I started looking for a new job the day I was told I would be demoted. I should be getting an offer any day now. No, it doesn't feel like a demotion. Don't leave for less. Bide your time. You have the upper hand with employment. Find the job that fits and pays more and bounce.
