I can't believe some of you are just now realizing Adidas is a horrible place to work. It was always like that unless you belonged to the right groups or cliques. Those on the outside who don't play politics were always sc--wed. This place was and still is a mess and I keep hoping one of these days everybody will know it.

Incredible how a company talking diversity still has a board with one woman and everyone knows she is a token gesture to show some balance.
What surprises me is that anybody is surprised at the culture in adidas, the ceo is the head of the boys club.
The product leadership in Amsterdam is seriously incompetent. The VP is a joke and most of his first line are incompetent women massaging his ego or more.
You’ve got a new CHRO who enabled some of the worst behaviors in Supply chain now hiring all of her friends to her leadership team and it seems no previous experience required when it comes to SVP roles. If your in the group you’ll be ok but outside it - forget about it and as for diversity, as long as your white and male, no problem at all but people of color stay for a few months then leave. I wonder why?

Interesting. The current CIO is a great person, and incredibly kind and supportive. know him personally. Martin however… we need to practice what we preach and boot him like a toxic narcissist collab gone wrong

If you are going to work for a stock-valued large corporation, you can only trust yourself, your witts, and your ability to arm yourself with enough facts that people can’t throw you under the bus.
Welcome to the corporate world. If you want to be babysat, placated, and expect equal treatment — might need to do something else.
It’s the same story everywhere. Incompetent people (mostly egotistical and mediocre white males and enabling white women) making stupid decisions and then using re-org, re-this and re-that for justifying their jobs. Look at what they did with APAC, the new MD and his team have been holidaying since then in the name of market visit. His HR has not been found in office since she was hired, and Michelle is busy hiring VPs and SVPs but the business has no HR support.
The sad part is this cycle will never end, dictators and Martin like offenders will be replaced by new and Young dictators and the cycle of destruction will continue with small peaks of success.
When is Martin out?
One toxic place is Tech. Run by the Cio or the Vp of the Cio - we can call her the "black widow" - bw. Together with the Hrbp ( who left the company too late after ruining multiple careers) applied the usual "business reorg process" to the people who are speaking up or threathening their careers. The bw who possesses non-existant tech transferable skills is now judging who should stay in tech, her latest victim another woman Vp who was creating waves with her professionalism. The bw who is a self-proclaimed "women ally" (there is no tangible proof for this) and remains to be seen how she will get along with the only other Vp woman and who will devour who. To be continued.
@byfk Nike lays some great talent too. Some were ex adi they baited with cash and then dropped when they pivoted to a new strategy. They see employees as disposable.
It’s the ones who have only ever worked at Nike that should be proceed with caution, they struggle to thrive in other environments without the ability to just throw money at things.
Just wait until adi dips its toes into hiring laid of Nike employees... That always works out really well... They don't give us anyone they want to keep.

Some people have a bad experience but that happens in any company. Speaking for myself and several others that left before Bjorn started, I’m looking in from outside and regretting decision to leave.

I was so glad to finally leave adidas last year. Couldn’t agree more about the cliques. I especially hated the Designers, all so pretentious, a bunch of rich kids who live off mommy and daddy’s money who act superior to everyone else. Always wanted to punch their faces especially the ones who wear those stupid fu--ing little beanies, you know the ones.
@…VLd, I respectfully disagree, there are a lot of people doing musical chairs with departments, in very (too) short amounts of time.
That's a hard question to answer - it's so siloed - there are very few people who get to see multiple orgs over a short period of time to compare.
