Thread regarding Optum layoffs

navihealth

There was a post on the UnitedHealth Group board that there will be layoffs in navihealth. Does anyone have any info on this, who or when?

The NaviHealth name has been tainted which is the reason they changed names to Home and Community but that still doesn’t make things better. They may be trying to restructure the whole thing to make it look like a different enterprise but in order to do that they’ll let a ton of the old guard go.

I wonder if the class action lawsuit against NaviHealth is playing a role in the cuts? All that exposure about the algorithms making decisions regarding post acute care really left a bad taste for anyone that has a Medicare Advantage plan and discovered how decisions were made.

The biggest hint with all of this.. Dec 2021 when we merged with optum and Clay announced he was leaving. I’m sure he knew what would happen.

People keep “resigning”. IMO this is not a good sign. I think they are being shown the door but would rather say they are resigning to save face. I think middle management will be the first to be cut like CTM’s and other related positions, unfortunately, once that happens they’ll start cutting our jobs next. Everyone seems too scared to say anything. I don’t know what they have up their sleeve but I just don’t feel safe working here anymore.

There are RN Staff Development instructor/Clin Nrs Consultant positions open at WellMed (under Optum) in Dallas, San Antonio and Florida. I know because a few of them resigned to positions outside the company. If you are an RN in those areas, apply. It's hybrid but mostly remote, Dallas is more remote.

Home Health Care Coordinator? I am so so so sorry….just so heartbreaking and so brutal to do it the way that they have done this.

Everyone needs to talk about this. There are still employees that aren’t even aware this happened.
