Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

No clear direction at management level

Other than cutting the number of employees, what did this latest restructuring achieve? What are we going to do moving forward to make sure we avoid a similar situation in the future? Does anybody know? From what I can tell, nothing has been communicated that would give me any faith that this leadership knows what it's doing.

It's still a mass hierarchal structure. The changes are mainly for optics, investors, and regulators. Nothing is better in my area (Tech) actually it's even more chaotic and disorganized than before. No one knows what's really going on or they are holding it close to vest.

Global business without interference from country managers and phony PnL committees.

Nothing is going to change. Starting to believe the rumors that this was Jane’s task and her legacy will be the DEI and ESG that their shareholders demanded and do the dirty work of laying off and then she will be gone.

Just judging by how the media portrays her it’s always an embattled image. They always know stuff we don’t know so I’m pretty sure she was also just a tool and will go as the first citi female ceo and that was it.

Zero communication. My guess, no one knows for sure, decisions are still being made and negotiated. ME: Just staying calm and taking advantage of this downtime to reflect on what do I really want to do? I know for certain, staying here is not it!!!
